Ranidae

This family of over 500 species can be found worldwide. The true frogs are a diverse group and it is difficult to describe characteristics shared by all of them. Their pupils are horizontal slits, like this: --. Among the more familiar members of this family are bullfrogs, leopard frogs , and green frogs .
