How do organisms in the Detroit River ecosystem interact? What are the current and past threats to Detroit area organisms? survival? How do populations change over time?
The First Annual BioKIDS Science Convention with presentations by Detroit Public School sixth graders sought to address these questions.
On January 13th 2009, Detroit Public School sixth graders presented and answered questions about what they have learned about ecosystems, biodiversity and ecology in the Great Lakes region. Local scientists, students, and researchers came to view posters and ask questions about what the young scientists learned about these important environmental topics.
