Laniidae

There are about 30 species of shrikes . There are 2 species found in North America, all other species are found in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Shrikes are medium-sized, predatory birds. Some species are known for using thorn bushes to store prey for eating later. They catch large insects and small vertebrates and impale them on thorns until they are ready to eat them.
