Kids' Inquiry of Diverse Species

gulls

Laridae

There are 50 species of gulls found around the world. These medium to large birds can be recognized by their long pointed wings, short legs, webbed feet, and (in most species) gray backs and white bellies. Gulls prefer coastal habitat, either fresh or saltwater. They spend much of their time flying.
